What questions should I ask my client at a consultation as an event planner?

I am starting a small event planning service and need to know what I should as a client at a consultation meeting. Where can I find a template of questions or a forum for something like that. Michr, you don't know what research I have done, nor education I have. If your not going to answer the question at hand you should post comments. Maybe I haven't found the ANSWER I was looking for elsewhere that's why I asked it here.

continuing education, certifications and degrees are wonderful tools when used. how do you expect to be successful without the knowledge needed to run the business? i believe this is referred to as "putting the cart before the horse". i hope your business plan does not include the use of free internet sites for information and the knowledge needed to be successful. take some class's at least or start out working in the business for someone else and gain experience. the manner in which you are going about this is setting yourself up to fail. i know this did not address the question and i wish you well good luck!
