What education/training/certification do I need for an AutoCAD job?

Best Answer:
My husband works with AutoCAD, he worked with it before but when he got laid off from his old job he was not able to find a new one. Right now he is attending school to gain an Associates Degree in Mechanical Technology. When he was looking he found many community colleges that offered the program he was looking for, that would be a good place to start.

Absolute minimum: Bachelors degree in the field you want to pursue. I have an associates in CAD Technology. On my last job hunt 3 1/2 years ago every employer I sent my resume to rejected me. They said I didn't qualify for the job even with years of related experience. That related experience came from a couple of architectural firms. When they hired me they didn't bother to tell me that my employment with them would only be short term since they require a BS degree to be hired permanent.
