How to become a Dental Assistant?
Asked by tc22
I want to become a dental assistant but I have no experience. How do you get the experience if they only look for people with 5 years experience or more. I mean in any job you have to start somewhere, but then again they always look for experienced people.

If you go to www.ada.org it will give you a whole list of all the schools for dental assistants, dental hygienist, and dentist approved by them. I am wanting to be a dental hygienist myself. I have seen that dental assistant's only have to have a certificate or 2 yr degree. A junior college in my local area had a 1 yr certificate for dental assistants. Some places even hire people with no experience and give you full training. That's what I am interviewing for. Good luck! Hope this helps you out!!
