Is it Legal to fire union workers and rehire same workers to be non-union?

My question is if your working in a union workplace (as related to a building maintenance contract) and the site gets bought by a new company can they layoff and then rehire workers but as non-union? In california if relevant.

Sure can. The law varies state to state as the the time frame, but yep. You don't have to work for the new company if you don't want to.
