What is the best way to find a job as a junior C# programmer/developer?
Asked by Jessica
I've been looking for a job as a C# programmer. It's hard to find one because most of them requires at least 2 years of experience, and I don't have any experience at all. Can anybody help me? Please.

What have you been doing with your skills, Show people the killer stuff you wrote at home beacuse you love programming so much. Because that is the test. If you do not do stuff above and beyond what the school wanted you to do, because you are passionate about it, they do not want to know you. Because employers need people that are passionate about programming and that cannot be taught in school. This is how you get your experience. The C# programmer we have was hired because while he was in school, he set up Unix servers at night to make extra money and because he just loved doing it. This also counted for the needed experience. That passion for what you do is why my daughter has a free ride for her masters and doctorate in engineering while her undergrad college roommate is living with her parents, unemployed.

Set yourself up as a provider on www.elance.com or www.getafreelancer.com. Bid on the easier jobs to start and build up a portfolio. Take those with you when you to interviews. This way you can make some money while gaining experience at the same time.
