What are the negatives of being an Actuary?

I have a degree in math and economics. I'm thinking about the actuary career route. I've only heard the positives of becoming an actuary. Any info would be helpful.

I have never heard of any negatives except that the work is boring..

If you are keen on continuous studies, then actuary may be the right career path for you.
To be a qualified actuarist, you have to study the actuarist degree. It is a long process as I heard. Reason because you are studying on probabilities of occurence, and that is a long research to do.
For eg, if you are an actuarist for an insurance company, you need to find out the life expentancy of an individual in a particular country. Basically you have to find out the risk of that individual died, base on their gender, occupation, medical history, age, etc. You have to be extremely good in statistics and probabilities, to come up with the right premium to charge on their life insurance policies, taking account that it will be a profit for the life insurance company as well.
