painting & decorating (C-33) examination is divided into six major sections. these sections are the following: 1. PAINTING PROJECT PLANNING & ESTIMATION (28%) a. assessment of job site conditions b. materials selection c. materials calculation d. equipment & tools 2. MINOR DEMOLITION & REPAIR (11%) a. causes of paint failure b. substrate repair c. removal of wall coverings 3. SURFACE PREPARATION (23%) a. site protection b. preparation of sound surfaces c. preparation of contaminated surfaces d. preparation of failed coatings e. preparation of surfaces for wall coverings f. pressure washing g. repairs of holes & cracks 4.
