i some advice please...?
Asked by nedoglover
i am working at a comfort inn right now - i have been there for about 3 months - and i hate it. all i do is sit there and listen to people complain all night. i am the only one in the hotel for most of the night (i work until midnight) and i get kind of uncomfortable because of some of the people that come in. also, i am needing a more steady paycheck - it is part time and i never have set number of hours. there are weeks where i work two days and times where i work seven days in a row (half one week and half the next). there are also times where the manager has to leave so i have to come in two or three hours early (but i don't get off any earlier).
i have been putting in a couple applications. one is to one of the distribution centers for the buckle. i completed it about a couple days ago. the only issue is that it would be a 30 minute drive to get there. i also put in an application to walmart a couple weeks ago and i got a voice mail earlier today for an interview. it is in town but i don't think that i really want to work at walmart because of the horror stories i have heard (i would be most likely stocking). i know that they are difficult to work with and you don't have a flexible schedule.
i think that i would rather work at the buckle because they have a set schedule and holidays off but i know that i may not even get an interview with them.
another issue is none of these things is what i really want to do. i have a chance to train assistance dogs on commission through a group a few hours away but i would have to stay in that town for three months for the first dog (like i was going to school). i am going to talk with the president of the organization soon and see what my options would be for this.
what should i do? i am really annoyed with my job right now and it doesn't pay well. i know that walmart won't wait for long (if i want an interview i have to call tomorrow). i want to talk to the guy about the dog training but i have to save money somehow. should i give up with the distribution center and go with walmart?
any advice? what would you do in my situation?

Would you consider going away to college on financial aid where you can pay back your expenses later? Then you get improve your chances by about 75,000 per year with your Bachelors.
Otherwise, I would do the dog thing, and ask your employer idf they have any ideas on how to supplement your income. Dog walking or dog babysitting for people who don't want to use a kennel could be very lucrative.
Good luck!
