What job could I get that would allow me to take the summers off to be with my child? ?
Asked by thatgirl90
I am not interested in becoming an educator or a school bus driver. Aren't there any other jobs out there that let moms stay at home with their kids during the summer?

Check out your county's Board of Education's job postings. There are several types of positions within school districts that are posted under "classified" job listings, which means you do not need a degree in order to fill the position. Also, you can apply for 'any' job around on a seasonal and/or temporary basis. If going this route, I would check out the places of employment that are hiring for such positions first, save yourself a lot of unnecessary application-filling-out-time! Good Luck.

only ones that are involved with schools or are closed for the summer. most like office work and business doesnt take a break for summer, and won't let you either. your best bet is to work as a teacher, school bus driver, daycare worker (and even then they wont let you have summer off they might let you bring your kids to work though), youth programs, and um ski resort (closed when there isnt any snow).

Political reps tend to get long summer and winter breaks. Not admin though - you'd have to actually run for an office. (Which isn't necessarily as unobtainable as you might think, so look into it)

What about a substitute teacher? it's not really an educator just a baby sitter really...lol

You could work in school administration (not teaching, just support). Something in the landscaping or construction businesses might work too, since winters are slow periods for them. You could also potentially find a job-share type of position where you "share" a job with someone else.

if you are looking for something ethical and interesting as well, i must tell you, long term steady income require some patience and dedication.. fast and easy money are mostly scams..they ask for upfront payment and guarantee that you'll cover it in days.. but then they disappear.. If you can write well there are a number of genuine options for you. http://freewritingjobs.blogspot.com/ Then Medical Trancsription is another good option, Here u need to convert data from images and audio clips to text and repost to the senders website. List and links of some genuine sites offering transcription jobs can be found here: http://genuine-transcriptionjobs.blogspot.com/ also for freelance jobs elance and guru are good option, they offer data processing and data cleansing sort of work, which is simple and can be performed from home easily. links for genuine data processing related jobs can be found here: http://genuine-dataentry.blogspot.com/ they are all free to sign-up and seems legitimate so far to me. now how will u receive payments? most of them will send your money by paypal, checks or wire transfer in your bank account on weekly or monthly basis.
