Assuming you are in the US, the minimum qualifications to become a hospital therapist are the same as elsewhere. You need to graduate from an accredited PT program that results in either a masters or doctorate degree (DPT). The vast majority of PT programs are DPT programs and take 6 &1/2 or 7 years to complete. You spend your first 3-4 years as an undergraduate taken your prerequisite courses and your general education. Most programs are set up so that your apply to the program after earning a bachelors degree in a field of your choice. You must have completed the courses required for entrance into the program which usually includes biology, chemistry, physics, psych, statistics, and calc/trig. You will most likely also need to take the GRE and complete observation hours.
Entrance is typically competitive. Minimum GPA is typically 3.0...but those who get into the program often have a higher GPA. Not all qualified students will get admitted. Therefore, it's important to apply to more than one school if your are elligible.
I'd recommend going to the APTA website at www.apta.org to learn more about the education. Good luck
