thinking about joining the army, any one with advice?

Ill be able to enter as an E-3. Im looking into Intelligence. I scored an 85 on the practice ASVAB and the recruiter has high hopes for me. Im not sure which branch i want to join. ive talked to both Army and Air Force. Army said that they put my job in my contract and have it set that ill be deployed for about a year and then be back for about a year to a year1/2 in the job that im looking at. i forgot the code name for it but it has do with computer hardware and software maintenance and passing a high security back round check. the recruiter i spoke to claims to have the same job. well i guess what im really after is any inside opinions from either air force or army. The air force cant guarantee anything beyond a "career field" which he wants to push me into mechanics. I know that im writing a lot , but i just really need some insider advice and or opinions. ive also heard that the chief or leader of the air force has declared that they are going to be taking on a more "expeditionary role" in the war opposed to their usual role. and there is something like 300,000 airmen being retrained and deployed with the army and only something like 1/3 of them have done that so far. so like i said any advice or insight on this would be appreciated.
