Does Metlife offer true part-time positions for insurance sales agents?
Asked by Andrew A
I am currently looking to do some extra work on the side out of my primary position as an analyst. Metlife Insurance contacted me and I wanted to know if they do contract part-time agents that would not interfere with my current job, and what kind of quota is required to meet.

Yes they do but...think again. You can go to work part time for a large agency like State Farm or Nationwide, or a big broker and do that too. That way you wouldn't have to call on strangers, you could call on existing clients the agency already has. For example, if a State Farm agent writes a homeowners insurance policy you could follow up with a call for the new owners to buy enough life insurance to pay the mortgage. Many property and casualty agents do not like to bother with life/disability insurance. I would stick with writing life insurance for small business owners, new home buyers and new parents if you decide to go with a life only company. Also offer disability income, bigger commissions and people really need that.
Insurance business since 1982, life/health only and multiple lines agency

If they contacted you, why are you asking us? This would be an excellent question to ask them, since they are the only one's that can answer the question.
