General math skills are always important. Understanding how to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and knowing about percentages and how to calculate them is very important in office work.
You will be called on to do spreadsheets that track data and give percentages routinely and if you just rely on the MS Office programs you may not do it right because you have to know which formula to use, (for instance, summing a row, or averaging a row) or if you need to create your own formula (for instance, this cell divided by that cell).
Knowing MS Office is good too. Most offices in the US use their programs and if you have the skills it will help you get the jobs.
Good luck to you!

please take an Excel or Lotus 123 class, you will have to use math almost daily.
I've been an Admin for over 10 years, I went to a clerical school where I learned Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint and Visio, I don't need a degree but I'm working towards one, because I want to move up.
Now a days Admins, have 4 year degrees, they are equivalent to an office manager and get paid accordingly. And there is the possibility of starting out as a receptionist.

Yes you'll need math skills. Depending on the position and the company, some positions need math skills more than others.
You don't need a degree. Taking a class for Microsoft Office is good.
BUT, these positions are drying up FAST!!! You might want to consider something in the field of Healthcare <<< LOTS of jobs there! and scholarships!
Good luck.
