I'm looking for a position of full time, part time or temporary nearby San Jose (around 25 to 30 miles). Industrial Engineering major or related positions.

Posting your resume on line is a start, but also send your resume on jobs you see in the paper and in on line searches...here in Santa Cruz we have SantaCruzJobs.com, I'm sure San Jose has something like that. Also, check Craigslist daily. Your local Employment Developement Department will likely also have a "job club", here in Santa Cruz it's called Profile, check with your EDD on this. They have certain participation requirments, but they offer workshops on all sorts of great jobseeking tasks and skills, also networking and support. I was in our local job club before I got the job I have now and I found it very very helpful. Networking is super helpful, and lots of jobs never even get advertised because they are filled through networking. That was one of the things that was really helpful about the job club. We also did exersizes and discussions that helped me to really focus on what I wanted and that helped me to get the job I have now, which is pretty much exactly what I described during the daily exersizes we did on what we wanted.
