What does a sales associate do?

I would just like to know some general info. on what the responsibilities of a retail store sales associate would be? (More so for a clothing store) Thanks!

A sales associate is someone who works on the sales floor. You make sure that everything is in order, and that you put things back where they belong. You also help customers if they come up to you and ask you a question. Usually when someone needs something brought up to the check out lane, the sales associate normally finds the product & then take it to the check lane. You could also do back up cashiering if it gets too busy & hectic.

Could include cashier, clean up, stock work, floor sales, re-stock of items, price labeling, keeping merchandise neat, sweeping floors, washing counters/windows, gift wrapping. etc. Hope this helps
