Proper etuquitte for quitting a fast food job?
Asked by just wondering
I'm quitting a fast food job. I don't have time right now with my extra curriculars, and am so stressed right now. I'm on good terms with most of the managers, and I'm wondering how to quit. I'm planning on giving two weeks before formally quitting, but is a letter necessary? Anything else that I should be aware of?

LOL, no letter necessary. Just tell whatever manager does the schedule not to schedule you anymore after 2 weeks from that day. Then ask whatever managers you get along with best if you can use them as a reference for jobs in the future.

You should do it in person. Make sure they know that you enjoy the job and don't criticize anything there because you will need them as references in the future. Giving two weeks is good form.

Just write a letter saying "Dear [store manager], I regret to give you to my two weeks notice, due to my excessive extra curriculars. [this date] will be my last day of working for [company]."
Maybe say something like "it has been a pleasure working for this company"

Give 2 weeks notice saying that your extra carriculum at school requires more time since school has to be your first priority in your current life. As for the letter, ask one of the managers if company requires a written lettler of resignation. You don't have to have it ready at the time of informing your intent. Don't forget to thank the managers for providing a nice work environment, teaching you many things and that you have enjoyed working for them. If you want to return to work from time to time during your school years to earn extra income, tell them that you hope a position will be available when your school work becomes less demanding.

2 weeks notice in the form of a letter is best. Also, whatever you do, don't burn any bridges. You really never know when you might need that job again, even if you don't think you ever will.
