Are they allowed to give me only 8 hours between days at work?
Asked by libramoon92683
Is my employment allowed to give me only 8 hours between days I work?? Like, one day I work from 3:30pm-midnight and then the very next day I have to be there at 8am… is this allowed? I live in Arizona and I work at Target. Someone told me to look up Arizona employment turnaround times but that search didn’t bring anything up.

Yes, they can do this. Other than trucking and flying, there are few other jobs that require you to take a certain amount of time off between shifts. It's sometimes called a split shift. It's legal. As long as you get at least 8 hours off between shifts it's fine. After 40 hours, of course, you get overtime.

nope its agianst all labor laws ,but its pending on your breaks i would say that if you dont have at the least 6 hrs off your time reguardless of trel to and from work seee there giving you that -330--800 .. what i would do is look at the projected schedule for the hollidays ths is avialible upon your request and you must have one given or posted on your up comming work weeky od by weekly schedudule and cheeck your pay periods cause if you feel your not getting your OT or over worked and stressing you got to have some paper in hand to at least point out your cituation at best you will get on a one 2 one with managers and rember that if you dont understand some thing they must EXplian it to you till you do its the LAW ... so good luck ROC

Your search didn't find anything because there is nothing to find - there is no law requiring a particular amount of time between shifts.
