can i lose my cdl if i file bankruptcy?
Asked by arisonius3
I financed my cdl schooling through a loan. they are willing to take me to court over being 1 ayment behind. I can't make that payment I don't have the money. they would rather see me file bankruptcy than wait to get their money. however, they mentioned I could lose my cdl. is this possible or are they pulling my leg to get me to pay?

Best Answer:
If you already have your CDL, the only people that can take it away is the DMV for either points, medical, or criminal violations. Filing for bankruptcy will not affect your CDL (or regular license for that matter). Bill collectors are trained to hone in on the one item which is meaningful to you, and attack or threaten it to try to evoke strong emotion in order to get you to pay your debts. They are blowing smoke.
