What kind of hours do assistant managers at safeway work?

I was just wondering if anybody knows what kind of hours an assistant manager at safeway (or similar grocery store) works. Are they like 12 hour days? or more like 14 15? I know they're usually paid salary, but was wondering if they really work from like 7am to 10pm like my friend says.

normally they will work only a eight hour shift but depends on the manager -- mostly they will cover hours when he is not around!!!
