I have never heard anything good about Driver Solutions. I belong to two talk forums for drivers and have heard a lot of complaints. Swift & Schneider have their share of complaints too, but I have also heard people say good things about them. CR England also has a paid training program. Again, mixed reviews, but I have heard some people who are happy with it. If you go with a company paid training program, understand that you'll be "under contract" to work for the company for a certain amount of time- usually between 1-2 years. If you can find financial aid or financing to attend a local community college or vo-tech school for CDL training, you will be much better off, as you'll be able to pick and choose from a wider range of companies that hire new drivers. The drug tests are urine tests, but I have heard talk that JB Hunt is considering adopting the hair test. Random, and you're also subject to one any time you're injured on the job, or if you are involved in a wreck, no matter how minor. Bad habits are best left behind you ;)..... If you want more info, feel free to check out one of these forums. The first one is a Yahoo group designed for new drivers to ask questions & get advice from experienced drivers. It is free to join, strictly moderated, no arguments, flaming or harassment: http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/trailertruckintech/ This is a message board forum designed for anybody who's interested in or connected to the trucking industry: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum Good luck!
