Is a key holder better than a sales associate?

What are the requirements? And does a key holder get paid more than sales associate?

yes...pretty much they're right below management...think of it as a key holder has a key to be able to open/close the store...the requirements differ...some places want you to work your way up to that position, while other companies may hire or promote for that specific position...usually, as far as requirements go, management of some sort would give you an edge over someone who has never had that responsibility....i'm sure they do get paid more than a sales associate, but i'm not sure how much, and honestly, with today's economy, i doubt its that much money more than the associate!
