What is the approximate pay of this?

My fiance is getting his hours and going to work for surface mining in West Virginia... I know absolutly NOTHING about it lol... So i have a few questions... I know that it's dangerous, but is it as dangerous above ground as it is underground? Also we have a baby, Are trying to get a house * nothing to big and great, just a small nice little place for rent, kinda cheap * and those bills, his car payment is 200 a month plus insurance and gas, his cell phone bill and mine, and i've got to get a laptop and internet for my nursing class, plus groceries and ya kno just like emergencies... Do you think working in the mines will give him enough money a month to pay all of those bills on time? I am a student and mother so I don't have any time to get a job until i graduate 2010... Also if you could give me any info you kno on this job i'd really appriciate it... I can't be alone at night- i'm scared of being alone at night, can he get hours to work and be home with me at nights? Thanks Guys :))
