How long will it take walmart to call me back for a job?
Asked by noelgallagherowns
I needed a temp job so I filled out an application online for an overnight stocking job at Walmart. Since it's 3rd shift and Christmas season, shouldn't there be positions open ASAP? How long do you think until I get a call? Anyone work there?

hi
my husband is a store manager for walmart here in nc. I will tell you that once you do the online app you should have done that personality test. depending where you fall on that test will depend on if you get a call back or not. has nothing to do with their openings. they rate that test 1,2,3...if you fall in the 1 section you will go through the hiring process if they have something for you if you fall in 2, 3 its best to keep looking for a job at other locations.
*edit* the store manager goes through the online applications not the HR manager! if you need more info email me

Just make sure you're not the guy standing in front of the doors on heavy shopping days. Wear a suit of armor if you are.

what i always is call them and ask what the status is on my application.. give them a call and be sure of course you are talking to a hiring manager.. it has never failed for me cuz it ends up being that if they wanna talk to you they will do it then and there since you are already on the phone. it just cuts a lot of time out of my process. good luck!

I would follow up on the application, ask them directly how long it will be for them to make their decision. Besides, following up demonstrates to them that you're interested in working for them.

Well who do you think is looking at these applications? How many applications do you think they received?
Probably some min. wage entry level HR assistant, and probably dozens if not hundreds of Apps (because a lot of people are thinking just like you)
I'd give it up to a week or so considering the job type, and after that forget it.

Why would you want to work a back-breaking job for $8 an hour?

This time of year, could be awhile. And there is no guarantee they'll ever call you.
The seasonal Christmas jobs were filled weeks ago.
