Help with career choices!?
Asked by eRock98
So its my senior year, Just about to finish the first semester and i STILL don't know what i want to do as a career! 18, Male, 6'2, 160lbs Pros: Good with people Interested in space etc.. Highly skilled in auto mechanics Hard worker Cons: Suck at math GPA is 1.65 The way i see it is that i will not be able to get any scholarships, MAYBE grants, and most likely will have to get a loan. But the big problem is i don't know what i want to do! I don't want to be a diesel technician because it is about to be a bad field to go into and the life long effects will be very painful. I like working with a group, and i'd love to be an astronaut but i don't have the credentials to become one.. I know that i'm a very smart person. I just have a hard time staying motivated. So here is what i would love to do Fire Fighter Astronaut Pilot I just don't think i am qualified. But i am very interested.

This weeks' news regarding where people will be able to get a job are: Education Anything in Health field Anything with machines Technology I would suggest going to a Career Lab in a local Community or Junior College ASAP; they will give you interest and career inventories and help you choose a career field. Then, depending on what training is required for your choice(s), you will likely want to go to a Community College first two years (cheaper and not so hard to get accepted) OR a Technical School. Become trained in your choice, and work hard at it. You will probably not remain in your first career the rest of your life, but it will give you the opportunity to grow more mature and gain "life experiences" as you gravitate toward a decision for the long term. Regarding your low motivation, remember that no one can do this for you. When you become successful, you will be motivated, and then you will grow from your experiences. Always be honest, have integrity, and be punctual. Good luck to you!
Experience working with students. I am a retired School Counselor (ten years) and School Principal (twenty years).
