Can I force my employer to approve my holiday before being made redundant?

I would like to use my holiday entitlement before being made redundany. Can I force my employer (UK) to take my holiday before being made redundant? I know you could I will be paid for it anyway, but I want to take it beforehand...

Simple answer - NO.

You cannot force your employer to let you take it, you can ask and see if he/she gives in but other wise you just have to receive the money instead.

Depends how much notice your employer requires for holidays. It's often a month but I don't know how much longer you have to go to redundancy

Most places would welcome you taking your holiday - first they won't have to pay you for days not taken, second you are not around to p*ss off the customers (or the other staff) ..
