Where can I find info about Medicare reimbursement for Physician assistants?
Asked by street j
I am a physician assistant that just gained employment with a physician whom has never had a PA work for him before. I am trying to help him find out what steps we need to take in order for me to bill under him and get reimbursed by Medicare, but I can't find anything on the internet. Does anyone know what I need to do or where I can look?

It is not a supposed duty for PA, and very complicated paperwork, you need a medical billing and coding or nurse help you or attending online course.

PAs can bill on their own. Look up the reimbursement codes. Medicare uses the ICD codes. Your biller should be able to help you.

Contact your state PA society for state specific info, then AAPA can help on a more national level. You need to apply for your own provider ID number (PIN). You can also contact medicare; but start with your state PA Academy.
