What is the pay range for a Medical Assistant and how many months does it take to complete the course?

I've seen many schools advertising medical assistant programs. I'm skeptical about many of the schools. Is there a demand for medical assistants?

Training usullay 18 month to 2 years.
Salary varies widely.
Bay area $33000
LA area $31000
Central valley $28000

There will always be a demand for people in the Medical field..
people are always sick.. always dying.. Doctors always need assistants .... it would be a secure job..
but depending on what schools u take.. it takes between 15months on the short side.. and if going full time.. about 24months..
Depending on where u live would be ur salary.. some where in the 30 to 40K @ year..
