with your slinger (and i presume banksman ) cert then you could apply for a position as deck crew although they are normally picked from scaffs and riggers. you could possibly try for a riigers job using your ticket.
using your fabrication cert you could possibly get a job as a pipefitter.
the welding side would really depend on your coding as the offshore welders are multi-coded and you would have to sit a company test before any start, pipefitters normally get a start on a c.v. alone.
the summer would be a good time to get a start as its then that the shutdown season starts and agencies and firms need all the men they can.
apply now to as many recruitment agencies you can and keep on at them for updates.

First thing you will need is an offshore survival certificate. You cant work on a rig if you cant get to it. They do them in Warsash in southampton. Once you have that you can start looking for work on the rigs, but it not all its cracked up to be, you have to be a special sort Of person to work on them. Quite a few go stir crazy.
