unemployment rules on working part time in illinois ?
Asked by santino1932
what are the rules for working part time and collecting unemployment benefits. ive been laid off for a while and i just started to collect my 3rd extension for 7 weeks and just started to work a part time job. the job is only working 20hrs so i cant live off that alone so i plan to collect till i either get a ft job or another pt to fill the rest of the hrs im shorted. my ques would be how much would be to much to be able to collect, what is a work incentive credit, and any other info i would need so i wont lose my benefits. thanks for any info and help. also i tried calling with these questions and was not able to get through. when i did i asked how much can i make they said if my benefits were 348 a week i cant make over the 348 but 340 would be ok and my benefits would not be taken away or reduced. is this true or wrong info. so if anyone has done this or know the rules let me know cause the office never gave a straight answer or gave different answers when i did call other offices when i was able to talk to s0meone. thnx for the help

Sounds wrong. Most states deduct the part time pay from your benefit.
