Need input on a Non-profit volunteer opportunity recently offered in the SF/Bay Area, CA?

Hi, First of all, I would appreciate it if those of you who are knowledgeable with the current Non-profit scene in the SF/Bay Area can assist me with this. I was recently offered a volunteer opportunity with an organization in the SF/Bay Area - starting the first week of January. I would like to get someone's opinion on the organization that either is familiar with it or has actually worked with them (obviously, a plus). Out of respect for the organization, please contact me, then I will disclose their name and the opportunity they offered. I look forward to receiving your response and appreciate your time.

I don't think you are going to get many responses. Your question is too specific. (This is speaking from experience,) Best thing you can do, is just ask what anyone knows about that particular group, right up front. This forum is annonymous. IE: No one knows who is asking or why. Also, I don't think you need to not mention the organizations name out of respect. If they are a respectful organization, they would not give a second thought to someone checking up on them. I can't help you specifically, but you might have a better shot contacting the SFB Better Business Bureau. They likely can't tell you if they are legit, but they can tell you if they have any registered complaints. Good luck.
