Pros and cons of running an In-home daycare?
Asked by Me
I am currently a teacher, but am thinking about staying home and running an in-home daycare so I can spend more time with my son. My mother has an in-home daycare, and I have also worked in 2 center daycares, as well as subbed in a different in-home daycare. I know the routine...however, would like to hear people's opinions on the pros and cons of running an in-home daycare. What are some things I should think about before making this decision...?

in some states you will need to be approved by the state,, if you are going to accept children that parents get help with the cost from the state you will have to also be approved by them and do the paper work that is involved with that.. the health dept may come in also and check your place out. asking and/or telling you that you need to add this or get rid of that.. making sure all the parents pay and pay on time.. hiring the right kind of workers, Having the children's space and also having your private part of the house. You may not ever be able to call in sick.
