What career in IT would allow me to work very flexible hours? ?

i.e., if I wanted to work 30 hours a week one week, fine. If I want to come in at 10:30 AM instead of 8:30, fine. If I need more hours, I can do that as well. I don’t care about working at home or from an office, I would just like some flexibility.

I have worked for several technology companies and some will let you have flexible hours some will not. 2 of the 3 jobs I have had have flexible hours, the first job I had out of college they didn't care what your hours were as long as you finished the work, I usually worked 9:30-5 with an hour for lunch. The second job I had was a contract job for a big tech company, I could work up to 40 hours a week but not over and I had to take at least 30 minutes for lunch every day. I was trying to work as many hours as possible at that job. The job I have now I am salary again and have flexible hours, but there are rules I have to be available between 9 and 3 but I can work from home. Many tech places let you set your hours because it doesn't matter to them as long as you get your work done. It isn't what kind of job you are looking for it is the company. But in these bad economic times don't turn someone down because they want you to work set hours.

I'm no expert at jobs but I know alot about computers, you could do web design if you have some knowledge of that. You can do it in your own time and from home. Thats about the only one I can think of. Good luck!
