What places besides fast food restaurants hire, ( and is good pay) for 16 year olds?

I really need a job, but I do not want to work in a fast food place. Does anyone have any suggestions to what place would hire a 16-year-old?

i am also 16 and i was hired at the high school in illinois that i go to. this is really nice because i usually just work after school so i don't even have to pay extra gas money to get to work. unless of course it is a season for a sport(s) that you play. but the school will already have the schedule for games and practices so that is also another advantage. local park districts may need some help, especially during the summer. for both of these jobs i can do anything from painting to mowing to operating heavy tractors and machinery. sometimes there is even some office work that may need to be done. good luck!

Well about the best job you can get without a college degree or skilled trade is being a server at a restaurant, not a fast food one. I made 29k in 2008 waiting tables, and most ppl do much better.
