why is it that schneider trucking company doesn't allow new drivers to get sleep at their home or motor lodge?
Asked by legna17

Because usually the company is running team drivers. And the point to team driving is to have the truck moving at all times. One drives while the other one sleeps. In this business company driver or owner operator if you an over the road driver in order to make money you will be sleeping in your cab. that's the nature of o.t.r. driving. If you want to sleep at home you need to find yourself a local position. Driving locally you are home every night. But good luck finding a good local position with no experience. And as far as pay a knowledgeable owner/operator is going to make way more money but you can lose your a** just as quick. Especially with the way the fuel prices and the economy are. I always preferred a company driver position.
