What would you major in to have a career in artist management?
Asked by Carmen c
I've always been interested in management and it's almost time for me to choose a college major. I was just wondering what kind of college major should I enter into in order to be able to have a career as an artist's/singer's manager.

I would think you would want to major in business administration or accounting with a minor in whatever field you want to specialize in. You can get a degree in music management at some colleges, that would suffice for the music industry, but not for sports figures, artists, etc. The only reason I'm saying accounting is because you would get all of the routine business courses, but you would also get the benefit of the commercial law courses required. Marketing would also be a good choice.

Well to be a good manager of anything you should have a strong background in that field. So majoring in a music field would help you first of all. If you are ambitions double major in business so you can run the business part especially if you are going to be self employed.
