Absolutely not! I am 37 with three kids and I am in the dental hygiene program right now. Getting ready to enter my last semester of my first year. I am not the oldest person in my class either. Most of my class mates are in their mid to late 20's up to early 30's.
The only thing that would make this an issue is if you do not take the chance because you will regret it later. You are not too old.
Good Luck.

It doesn't matter about your age. I had ppl clean my teeth that was your age. Age is never an issue unless you make it.

if you're 50 or above then i would say a little too late. The program only takes 2 years to complete.
I was taking the wrong path and wasting a lot of time. I'm 26 now but no degree in hand. Since i was young, always thinking i'll be an engineer one day but it didn't work well. I took some classes at university after i graduated from high school for 3 years (part-time). School keeps increasing tuition and I dont have enough money to pay for it. So I decided to work full time. But not happy with the job due to economy crisis. I'll be getting laid-off soon. If I go back to school and finish my engineering degree, it's gonna take 3 full-time years and the cost some where 15K-20K for tuition fee. So I decided to go for dental hygiene. Go for it. You got my vote :-)
