Is it hard to get a job as a social worker?
Asked by xxwoahxx
I really want to be a social worker but my family hates the idea. Their two main arguments are: they don't make enough money and it's hard to find a job. While it would be nice to make a lot of money, I would prefer to be doing something I love not making a lot, than doing something I hate making loads of it. And i would imagine there are a fair about of social work jobs since they work in such a variety of placements. i'm smart with a 3.9 GPA and many social work related volunteer jobs. I want to go to McGill University.

Do what you want in life. That argument of "they dont make enough" is usually a materialistic mentality..its a job and a job is a job. If you are single and childless you can survive on a social worker's salary easily.
