Laurissa
average pay for district sales manager in California?
Asked by Laurissa
I was wondering what the average base salary BEFORE commission is for a district manager in the beverage/beer industry or if it varies from state to state.

Best Answer:
Base Salary is based on the min. wage of a State. California's min. wage is $8 an hour. The very min. yearly salary would be $16 an hour times 40 hours a week times 52 weeks. ($33,280). This is the minimum you would get if you are on salary, brand new to the profession on the manager level. District or Area Managers are usually way above that since they are in charge of the managers. The variations can be huge... run a search on a decent employment web site. They usually have a salary search engine for the different professions, etc.

I would not expect a fixed salary for all businesses within a state or community. Some sales manager positions are 100% performance based. In other words, they receive an over ride or commission based upon the performance of their salesmen and sales managers.
