What kind of jobs are out there with a 40 hour week around $20 an hour.?
Asked by ashwake
I'm sick of my factory job.
My own search has found...
Forklift driver.
Machine operator.
As a creature of habit I'm staying to my own fields of work and would appreciate other view points/ personal experience.

I have experience in customer service and as an electro-mechanical technician, primarily on business machines (copiers, fax machines, printers, etc). I have also worked in factories and warehouses as well as out in the field. I quit my $15/hr job in Dec 2007 thinking I had skills that would keep me from being unemployed for an extended length of time but it is now Jan 2009 and I am still unemployed. In addition to that, I have found few jobs with my qualifications that pay over $15/hr. In fact, most of the jobs for which I am qualified are paying more along the lines of $10/hr-$13/hr. (Yes I did apply for them anyway and still didn't get hired). What I am driving at here is that I have excellent skills with customers, communication, as well as technical expertise. Having searched for a job for over a year now, you will likely find no jobs with your skills for $20/hr and only a 40 hour week. I'm not saying that it's impossible and I'm not saying these jobs don't exist. Merely that you shouldn't get your hopes up.

Well, what state do you live in? To make $20/hr in the state I live, you'd have to be doing something more than driving a forlift.
