What happens after I complete my apprenticeship for plumbing?
Asked by Tom H
Im entering the army reserves soon with the career choice of Plumber. There is a local apprenticeship in my area. I was just curious how apprenticeships work. Will I have a job after my 4-5 year training or do I have to go and find my own job? It may sound like a dumb question lol I just really have no clue.

Your out front a little to far........you may own the company by the time you finish your apprenticeship, who knows. It's kind of one day at a time with union training. It will be a good field for you........learn it well so that you can do house work and government and school jobs so if you have to travel to work, that you can, because you have the skill. If they offer a special class take it.......you will need it some time. A friend of mine owns a big company and they work all over the west coast at times and yet are local when needed. He has special supers that he sends out of town, maybe with 1 or 2 guys and then picks the rest up out of the local hall. And yes you will have to locate your own job sometimes and others you will get help from the hall. Good luck, make it a good career, by working each day to be better.
