Does anyone have a really good covering letter template I could use for job applications for secretarial roles?
Asked by petite_cutelady
I have been out of the job market for 8 years and I know that a really good covering letter that stands out is a must when applying for a job. Thank you.

Personally I am of the opinion that letters are good, provided they are composed using good grammar and spelling (always use a spoil chequer!). You can find some good guidance for creating letters by following the resource in the box below, it's got loads of alternative stuff about job seeking as well.

It's really hard to design an effective cover letter template, because each employer is looking for something a little bit different. If you are looking for a secretarial role, you'll really show some flying colors to a potential employer if you can more directly personalize your cover letter to their particular needs and situation. Remember that as a secretary, you'll be dealing with many different kinds of people, so you should be able to show your competency in dealing with individuals by the way you put your cover letter together for your future boss. Things to discuss in your cover letter would be your prior experience, what you've been doing the last 8 years, and why you think all of that makes you a terrific candidate for the position. Freshen up your resume and include it with your cover letter, making sure all of your spelling and punctuation are correct. If you need some help putting together a cover letter, I am in the business of writing letters for people. Feel free to get in touch with me via Yahoo Answers and I'll give you my contact information.
