do i have to be fulltime student to recieve medical befefits?
Asked by Unknown
My medical benefits have stopped (public-aid ) Does my child have to be a full-time student in order to continue recieving public-aid.? or it doesnt matter.. He will be 19 years old in few days. He graduated early from school this January, and he is going to college in August. Will that ruin it for his medical benefits? Please help if you know anything about this or if you have experienced same thing.

No, my state (and neighboring states) give free medical insurance to anyone who makes under a predermined amount and is considered low income, no matter if you work, go to school, or if you sit home and stare at the wall. I am unemployed and am in school full time, but before I started school the Board of Social Services has given us completely free medical insurance, including NO copays, no cost or copays for prescriptions, free dental and eye doctor visits, etc. The only thing that needs you to be in school or be working is like welfare or daycare subsidies, normally. If you go onto the Board of Social Services (of your state) website or call them and ask them to tell you, they have a limit, like a family of 4 must make less than $600/wk to be eligible for free medical insurance. See if you qualify.
