Are there any restaurants that will hire without experience?

I am a college student. I have never worked in the restaurant industry before but I know that making tips can help to pay an extra bill. Most of the time, you have to be a hostess first and then they will train you to be a waitress, are there any restaurants that will just train you right away for a waitressing position? Or should I just state my case and hope they will train me?

most of them will.
restuarants are not looking for experience
they are looking for availability and someone who is willing to work
i work at a restuarant
and these are the things they talk about all the time

yea..im in the restaurant business..we try unexperienced girls all the time..go in there tell them your a student and your willing to learn the job and thats that..its aggravating..but if you have patience with the public and good with people you will make money and learn the job fast just be punctual with work

restraunt jobs are about as beggining as they come, seriousley.
yeaj, you might have to start out as a hostess and then work your way up.
