In what careers would you work with InDesign and Photoshop?
Asked by emilysarvis
I am quite skilled in both of the adobe programs, as well as with other editing programs, and would love to have a career where I can use these skills. Thank you.

There are many positions in graphic design, advertising, marketing and publishing that make extensive use of InDesign and Photoshop. What you'd do and what title you'd have can vary widely. Graphic design is the general term, but there's a big difference between an Art Director and a Production person, though they both use InDesign and Photoshop. If you really want to get in to the more creative options, it's good to know the tools but your best asset will be your ideas. It won't matter if you use InDesign or Crayons if you have smart creative concepts and a strong portfolio. If creativity isn't your thing, if you're more technical and accurate and know the software really well there are plenty of careers in graphic production for publications, web and advertising. It would also be helpful to know color management, offset printing and Illustrator as well.
