What are some good, legitimate jobs available for working at home that pay decent?
Asked by urlilchrissy
I am looking for a job that I could do at home that would allow me to be with my kids more. I am a server and it doesn't pay very well. I want it to be legitimate and pay better. Anyone have any ideas or know of anything? Please help.

"If a company requires initial payment from you in order to work for them, they are not legitimate." There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills inc fast typing, may want you to know MS Excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but thats rare. If you do an advanced search on yahoo, you will find previous answers, sometimes the info on these is good as the info they gave is likely to have been verified if the answer was voted as 'Best'.
http://dataentry-jobsearch.blogspot.com/ has some good information on how to search recruitment websites for work at home positions.

Sit down and start writting your goal (in detail) write down every single idea that comes to mind, like landscaping, babysitting, dog sitting, cleaning houses write down anything then you can take a cup of coffee (thats how I do it) and start deleting from your list. give it a try and let me know.

You can blog on a free site and get Google Adsense or affiliate programs that pay you when someone clicks on an ad. You can write for Associated Content or eHow, and get paid for how many times your article was viewed. AC pays $1.50-$20 for some articles. You can sell stuff on eBay, and that's about it. You can try westathome.com - they're a call center company that provides customer service and sales for AT&T and a couple credit card companies, and they have actual call centers + online reps. However, they probably get thousands of applications so don't bet on being hired. That's it for legit companies. None really pay any money. You can also check out odesk.com.

Here is some website that have actual work at home jobs that are legit. wahm.com and workplacelikehome.com (this one is the best) I work with West at Home as an at home customer service rep. It is a legit job, doesnt pay very much but at least it is at home. I get paid 7.50 hr. there are other lines u can get on that pay better, but it just depends which line they are hiring for at the moment. There are other companies tho such as, liveops, teletech, alpine access and so forth there are many more!
