No they are NOT paid the same. You can make more money as a certified dental assistant than a medical assistant. DAs make 11 to 25 per hour (average is usually 16-20 per hour for a certified DA).
Go to a community college that teaches DA. it is a 1 year program.
Medical A. Make much less.

I was a dental assistant for five years in california and the wages are not what i expected. The doctors that pay well have staff that will stay with them forever, so it is hard to find a "good job", I worked in ortho for about 4 years, and loved it, you would probably get paid the most in this field, I also worked in oral surgery for 1 year, and if you can believe got paid way less and did a lot more work, I am now going into the medical field, LVN, if I had to do it again I would have gone straight to nursing school, they get paid more and are in demand always, hope this helps!

none...it takes about the same time as an LPN, and they make about 50% more, so if you by how much they make, try RN a soon you finish your LPN witch is only 9 months, 7 or 8 month to became an ASSISTANT...don't forget you will always get pay as a helper.
sorry to be so honest, but that is the truth.
