Is it legal to be asked to re-apply for a seasonal management position?
Asked by fairydust
I have worked as a seasonal manager for 3 years, but this year i have been told my position is being re-advertised and I have to reapply for it by sending my CV in. This is the first time this has happened. I have checked my contract, there is nothing in it with regards to this. Can they do this?

Yes it is legal and happens regularly in many industries.

A:
Yes, since they are re-advertising then they can make you reapply for this position.

no this is totally illgal. you should have been notifified before you has undertaken the job. if i was you i would tell them that you will take them to court. As they cant stop you from doing what your doing without a valid reason, therefore this is totally illegal.

Yes, it's legal. If it's a seasonal job then you're only hired for that particular season and you expect to reapply for the next year. It's actually unusual to not be asked to reapply from year to year.
