I am looking to get an internship or get some experience with pharmaceutical sales any suggestions on how to go about this?

You don't want to be a drug rep. Trust me. I just got out of the industry and it's a complete mess right now. I can name about 10 companies I know that are laying off (in the 1,000's) right now. It is high-pressure, high-volatility, and undergoing massive upheaval and changes right now. Did you know the beloved marketing "goodies" that reps used to bring are no longer allowed? Many fear lunches will be next to get the axe. www.phrma.org I just know how absolutely miserable I was in the position for 2 years; everyone else I know wishes we had not been "razzle-dazzled" by the glitzy side and stuck to something less stressful and more stable.

Most pharmaceutical companies are cutting back on sales personnel right now. I have a friend who would go to hospital and medical plaza parking lots and wait to see other reps in the parking lot, then approach them and ask about career opportunities and get contact information for supervisors, then send resumes to the supervisors. It worked for him.

seems pretty basic, but I would also go to the manufacturer's websites and look under their careers section. You might also call any doctors you or your family may know.
