I was thinking of getting a job in housekeeping @ a hospital while i go to nursing school is that weird ?

I just started the nursing program.

No but there are other options such as Lab Assistant, Nurse Assistant, or Phlebotomist. These are all important jobs that provide more relevant experience, and are available for shift and weekend work.

Why would it be weird? It's a job. Big deal. But it you want more relevant experience, get a job as a CNA or Patient Care Tech.
