I was thinking of getting a job in housekeeping @ a hospital while i go to nursing school is that weird ?

No but there are other options such as Lab Assistant, Nurse Assistant, or Phlebotomist. These are all important jobs that provide more relevant experience, and are available for shift and weekend work.

Why would it be weird? It's a job. Big deal.
But it you want more relevant experience, get a job as a CNA or Patient Care Tech.

It will get you some spending cash. And you will be able to watch your new job from a different perspective. It is not weird..
