i want to be an auto mechanic?

but my parents dont want me to. they say it is not a good career and they dont pay well. i really like cars and thats the only thing i see myself doing. i've already taken 2 years of automotive in high school at a vocational school but i dont know if i should go on with it in college or change majors. what do you guys think?

Check it....Almost all automotive involves a computer backround nowadays. Go get want you want but get the knowledge that can make it go futher.U CAN DO IT MIKEY!!..seriously...You can get what you want...just go about it the smart way. Take ur time, make it work. It won't be for anyone else but yourself in the end anyway.
